"It's time for me to take my leave," said the Hare to the Hatter.
"But why, my friend, tea has just begun, and with it silly banter!"
"My tea's gone cold," said the Hare, and he stirred it with his thumb
"Besides we've got naught left here but a trifle and some crumb."
"So go," said the Hatter, and he gave a darkened look;
"I know why you want leave, you read just like a book.
My silly games can't hold you now, or ever here on after,
